The commodity inspection for phosphate exports is set to commence on March 15, with the inspection period lasting approximately 7 to 15 days.
It has been announced that China has set new phosphate fertilizer export quotas for the year 2024, effective from March 15, 2024, to April 30, 2025. The quotas are approximately 5 million tons for Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and about 2 million tons for Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP).
In total, about 7 million tons of phosphate fertilizer exports are divided into three periods:
From January 1, 2024, to April 30, 2024.
From May 1, 2024, to September 30, 2024.
From October 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025.
However, the exact monthly quotas allocated to each phosphate producer remain unclear.
Impact:
Following the news of relaxed phosphate fertilizer exports in March, the price of Monoammonium Phosphate rapidly increased, rising by 200 yuan per ton in less than a week, prompting many producers to suspend quotation.
With the easing of phosphate fertilizer exports, there is speculation about whether urea exports will also be relaxed soon.
