China's major fertilizer imports and exports in September.

Exports: 


In September 2024, China exported a total of 3.23 million tons of various fertilizers, including:


  • 9,500 tons of urea 

  • 1.72 million tons of ammonium sulfate

  • 660,000 tons of diammonium phosphate (DAP)

  • 120,000 tons of monoammonium phosphate (MAP)


From January to September 2024, China exported a total of 22.95 million tons of various fertilizers, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%. The total export value was USD $6.195 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 13.7%. Specific Fertilizer Exports for January to September 2024:

  • Urea: 250,000 tons, down 91% year-on-year

  • Ammonium Sulfate: 11.76 million tons, up 19.5% year-on-year

  • Diammonium Phosphate (DAP): 3.29 million tons, down 8.9% year-on-year

  • Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP): 1.57 million tons, up 2.3% year-on-year


Imports:


In September 2024, China imported a total of 1.3 million tons of various fertilizers, including:


  • 1.16 million tons of potassium chloride (KCl)

  • 110,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer 


From January to September 2024, China imported a total of:


  • Potassium Chloride (KCl): 9.24 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%.

  • NPK Compound Fertilizer: 940,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%.
