China's major fertilizer imports and exports in October.

The import volume of potassium chloride increased, while the export volume of urea was halved compared to September.


Import:


From January to October 2023, China imported a total of 10.42 million tons of various fertilizers, amounting to $4.676 billion.


In October, China imported 1.17 million tons of various fertilizers with a value of $382 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 99.1% in quantity and 9.5% in value.


Potassium Chloride:

  • Cumulative imports from January to October reached 9.15 million tons with a value of $3.88 billion.

  • In October, China imported 1.08 million tons of KCl (compared to 1.05 million tons in September), with a value of $331 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 110.1% in quantity and 11.5% in value.


NPK Compound Fertilizer:

  • From January to October, China imported 1.04 million tons of NPK compound fertilizer with a value of $656million.

  • In October, China imported 70,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer (compared to 90,000 tons in September), with a value of $41.938 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 112.6% in quantity and 60.2% in value.

Export:


From January to October 2023, China exported a total of 25.77 million tons of various fertilizers, amounting to $8.081 billion.


In October, China exported 3.1 million tons of various fertilizers with a value of $892 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.6% in quantity but a decrease of 33.5% in value.


Urea:

  • Cumulative urea exports from January to October reached 3.39 million tons, with a value of $1.294 billion.

  • In October, China exported 560,000 tons of urea (compared to 1.19 million tons in September), with a value of $207 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 60.1% in quantity and 3.0% in value.


Ammonium Sulfate:

  • Cumulative ammonium sulfate exports from January to October reached 11.32 million tons, with a value of $1.91 billion.

  • In October, China exported 1.48 million tons of ammonium sulfate (compared to 1.38 million tons in September) with a value of $235 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 7.4% in quantity but a decrease of 25.5% in value.


Diammonium Phosphate:

  • Cumulative exports of DAP from January to October reached 4.05 million tons with a value of $2.145 billion.

  • In October, China exported 440,000 tons of DAP (compared to 360,000 tons in September), with a value of $238 million, showing a year-on-year decrease of 12.5% in quantity and a decrease of 42.5% in value.


Monoammonium Phosphate:

  • Cumulative exports of MAP from January to October reached 1.7 million tons with a value of $957 million.

  • In October, China exported 160,000 tons of MAP (compared to 90,000 tons in September), with a value of $79.213 million, showing a year-on-year decrease of 10.4% in quantity and a decrease of 51.3% in value.
