China's major fertilizer imports and exports in August.

Exports:  In August 2024, China exported a total of 4.04 million tons of various fertilizers, including:

• 30,000 tons of urea

• 2.09 million tons of ammonium sulfate

• 610,000 tons of diammonium phosphate (DAP)

• 270,000 tons of monoammonium phosphate (MAP)
  

From January to August 2024, China exported a total of 19.71 million tons of various fertilizers, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. The total export value was USD 5.241 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 13.9%.

Specific Fertilizer Exports for January to August 2024:

• Urea: 240,000 tons, down 85.1% year-on-year

• Ammonium Sulfate: 10.04 million tons, up 18.7% year-on-year

• Diammonium Phosphate (DAP): 2.63 million tons, down 19.1% year-on-year

• Monoammonium Phosphate (MAP): 1.45 million tons, up 0.4% year-on-year

Imports:  In August 2024, China imported a total of 1.05 million tons of various fertilizers, including:

• 920,000 tons of potassium chloride (KCl)

• 100,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer 
  

From January to August 2024, China imported a total of:

• Potassium Chloride (KCl): 8.08 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.1%.

• NPK Compound Fertilizer: 830,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.6%.
