China's major fertilizer imports and exports in April.

The import volume of potassium chloride decreased compared to March, while the export volume of Monoammonium Phosphate and Diammonium Phosphate increased.

 

Import:

 

From January to April 2024, China imported a total of 5.11 million tons of various fertilizers, amounting to $1.725 billion.

 

In April, China imported 950,000 tons of various fertilizers with a value of $328 million, representing a year-on-year decrease of 13.7% in quantity and 44.5% in value.

 

Potassium Chloride:

Cumulative imports from January to April reached 4.6 million tons with a value of $1.44 billion.

 

In April, China imported 760,000 tons of KCl (compared to 1.2 million tons in March), with a value of $235 million, showing a year-on-year decrease of 19.3% in quantity and 23.9% in value.

 

NPK Compound Fertilizer:

Cumulative imports from January to April reached 420,000 tons, with a value of $228 million.

 

In April, China imported 140,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer (compared to 90,000 tons in March), with a value of $70.397 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 43.1% in quantity but a decrease of 2.5% in value.

 

Export:

 

From January to April 2024, China exported a total of 7.06 million tons of various fertilizers, amounting to $1.636 billion.

 

In April, China exported 2.1 million tons of various fertilizers with a value of $628 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 17.2% in quantity but a decrease of 0.7% in value.

 

Urea:

Cumulative urea exports from January to April reached 30,000 tons, with a value of $10.645 million.

 

In April, China exported 10,000 tons of urea (compared to 0 tons in March), with a value of $1.54 million, showing a year-on-year decrease of 93.2% in quantity and 95.5% in value. 

 

Ammonium Sulfate:

Cumulative ammonium sulfate exports from January to April reached 4.03 million tons, with a value of $596 million.  

 

In April, China exported 930,000 tons of ammonium sulfate (compared to 1.25 million tons in March) with a value of $140 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 9.6% in quantity but a decrease of 13.8% in value.

 

Diammonium Phosphate:

Cumulative exports of DAP from January to April reached 540,000 tons with a value of $306 million.

 

In April, China exported 400,000 tons of DAP (compared to 30,000 tons in March), with a value of $223 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 20.2% in quantity and 13.4% in value.

 

Monoammonium Phosphate:

Cumulative exports of MAP from January to April reached 310,000 tons with a value of $168 million.

 

In April, China exported 210,000 tons of MAP (compared to 0 tons in March), with a value of $109 million, showing a year-on-year increase of 54.8% in quantity and 32.0% in value.
