Changes in international fertilizer prices from November 24th to December 1st.

Price Changes of Urea, Ammonium Sulfate, Ammonium Phosphate, Triple Superphosphate, Potash Fertilizers, and Compound Fertilizers from November 24th - December 1st.

Urea

U.S. : Purchasing power in the U.S. market has slightly rebounded, but prices continue to decrease, with FOB Nola prices stable at $300 per ton. The large granule prices in Brazil have slightly rebounded from last week's low of $300 per ton CFR, with small batch CFR prices this week at $310 per ton.

Due to intense competition among traders and producers, urea prices have generally fallen significantly in other markets. The Southeast Asian market has seen a decrease of approximately $10-15 per ton, while the Western European market has experienced a reduction of around $30 per ton.

Short-term Outlook: Urea prices, especially FOB prices, seem likely to continue to decline in the short term.

Ammonium Sulfate

Europe: Ammonium sulfate prices have slightly decreased this week in Europe. However, one supplier sold 3,000-5,000 tons of standard caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate at FOB €175 per ton, scheduled for shipment to North Africa in December.

China: Overall prices have decreased this week. The FOB price for standard ammonium sulfate has dropped to $110-125 per ton. A supplier sold 6,000-8,000 tons of caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate to a trader at FOB $111-117 per ton, scheduled for December shipment. FOB prices for MMA-grade ammonium sulfate are $100-110 per ton, and granular ammonium sulfate is at FOB $140-145 per ton.

Indonesia: Pupuk Indonesia completed tenders for four batches of 20,000 tons of bulk caprolactam-grade ammonium sulfate, with the lowest bid at CFR $120 per ton.

Vietnam: The domestic price for standard ammonium sulfate from China is 4,100-5,100 Vietnamese dong per kilogram (equivalent to $169-211 per ton) in bagged form. Depending on the particle size, the FOB prices for ammonium sulfate from Japan range from 4,600-6,300 Vietnamese dong per kilogram (equivalent to $190-260 per ton) in bagged form.

South Korea: An importer completed the tender for the purchase of 6,000 tons of standard ammonium sulfate, with the lowest bid at CFR $122 per ton, for delivery by the end of December.

Brazil: This week, CFR prices for standard ammonium sulfate and granular ammonium sulfate are $135-145 per ton and $160-165 per ton, respectively.

United States: The market remained calm this week, with prices generally stable. AdvanSix's quotes for orders placed before December 6th and deliveries in the second quarter are FOB $335 per ton.

Ammonium Phosphate

Pakistan: An importer may purchase 15,000 tons of Chinese diammonium phosphate at a price of CFR $620-623 per ton. Despite a price increase this month, domestic sales of diammonium phosphate in Pakistan remain strong, with purchases ranging from 250,000 to 300,000 tons, higher than November 2022's 236,000 tons and November 2021's 220,000 tons.

China: The price of diammonium phosphate has risen to $580-592 per ton for pre-approved products. Producers have continued to suspend export quotes for monoammonium and diammonium phosphate this week in response to the government's call for price stability and supply during the winter storage season. It is still uncertain how much export quota will be allocated to producers in the first quarter of 2024.

Saudi Arabia: Ma'aden sold 22,000 tons of diammonium phosphate to Vietnam at a price of CFR $630 per ton, scheduled for shipment in December.

Australia: The import season is approaching, and a trading company may load 45,000 tons of Moroccan phosphate in mid-December for Lincoln Harbour - Townsville Harbour.

Suez Canal: Brazilian diammonium phosphate transactions have slowed again, with CFR prices slightly falling to $560-565 per ton. This week, tanker prices to the United States have risen, with FOB prices for monoammonium and diammonium phosphate rising to $545-552 per ton and $590-600 per ton, respectively.

Northwest Europe: Prices for Belgian diammonium phosphate are generally stable at $665-675 per ton. Spot prices for DAP in Germany and Poland are steady at €620 per ton.

Morocco: OCP's FOB prices for diammonium phosphate fell to $560-620 per ton this week, reflecting both price declines and rising freight costs.

Due to tight supply in China and pending shipments from other major producers until the end of the year, the demand side will have to pay higher prices. Rising freight costs are affecting CIF prices.

Triple Superphosphate

Brazil: This week, the price of Triple Superphosphate in Brazil remained stable at CFR $430-440 per ton.

OCP sold less than 5,000 tons of Triple Superphosphate to Western Europe at FOB $435-445 per ton, scheduled for shipment next month.

Potassium Fertilizer

Uralkali and India IPL: Signed a new contract for Indian standard potassium chloride at a CIF price of $319 per ton, with a 180-day letter of credit. Uralkali will ship 150,000 tons of potassium chloride to IPL by the end of the year.

General Potash Prices: Potassium chloride prices remain stable in most regions, except for a decline in South Africa due to sluggish trade. FOB Nola prices in the United States have also decreased slightly. In contrast to the potassium chloride market, potassium sulfate prices are generally stable.

China's Production: China's largest potassium chloride producer, Qinghai Salt Lake, produced 3.42 million tons from January to September, a decrease of 870,000 tons compared to the same period last year. The lower production may be offset by higher imports.

Downward pressure on potassium fertilizer prices still exists, and major markets are still in a wait-and-see mode. The new contract in India may lead to producers being unwilling to reduce prices.

Compound Fertilizer

15-15-15 Fertilizer: Prices have risen to $480-510 per ton, an increase of $5 per ton compared to last week. This is mainly due to the strong global potassium sulfate market and tight supply.

Overall Outlook: Due to the global weakness in nitrogen fertilizer, there is a possibility of a price reduction in compound fertilizer.
